Sony CX7000ES Changer with Network Support

Postby CinemarDave » Wed Jan 13, 2010 7:46 pm

Version 3.90.3 of the MLCX7000ES plugin is available immediately for download via MLInstaller. This version is for the new Sony BDP-CX7000ES mega changer. The plugin will support and unlimited number of network connected changers via TCP/IP and UPNP. Documentation for the plugin is the same as the serial port version and can be found here.

The commands set is identical to the serial version of the MLCX7000ES plugin. The only difference is that there is no configuration required. The plugin will automatically discover the changers on the network and all communication is done via TCP/IP and UPNP. You have to make sure that you have configured your changer to use "Network" under serial control.

Look for the MLCX7000ES via UPNP entry in MLInstaller.

The plugin will not connect with my changer by UPNP. The attached is the log file. Any ideas how to correct the problem?

For some reason it is discovering your Dish Network DVRs. Give version 3.90.28 of the plugin a test. It should only discover the Changers now. Let me know how this works as I cannot test it here.

3.90.28 fixed it. Found the changer and only the changer.

Thanks again, Dave.

Downloaded trial version..hooked up new 7000es plugin shows the unit, I have added the player commands to the dvdlobby remote section. I see the key presses in the 7000 plugin events but nothing happens on the changer. The changer is set to "network" in the installer menu. Since the plugin finds it the networking should be ok as well. Can the content manager scan the player for movies or do you have to manually enter them. I am going to run my movies and see if it finds all the disks...Noticed in the wiki that the default commands show "changenumber" not "changernumber" is that a typo ??

That is a typo.

If you have MLDMR you can use the DVDLobby scenes to look up movies in the changer. If you you will have to manually enter them.

Broadcast mode might not be turned on in the changer. enter the command AV.BDP1|BMode~on and see if that makes a difference.

I see <<ChangerNumber>> in your commands. It is a major problem. You'll need to look at where these commands are coming from because they are being sourced somewhere outside of the DVDLobby plugin. <<ChangerNumber>> can only be translated within a DVDLobby "play movie" command.

ok, I will go back to the drawing board and start over. Before I started, I had a 960 running via IR and and older DVP995 running via IR. I also might hook up a serial port and try my movies since I paid for the plugin and it will poll the player I think. Then I could swap back over to IP control and use DVD lobby which is what I prefer.

Do you have the UPNP version of the CX7000ES plugin installed? If not you should.
Did you go into setup on the changer and tell the serial port to use the "network" connection?
Are you using the latest version of MLServer?
Are you using the latest Mainlobby client?
Are you using DVDLobby 3.90?
Are you using the default scenes and commands?

Yes UPNP... see log below.
The ~Pause is an attempt to get the player to pause after removing the "changernumber" etc from the string on the wiki.
The Stop with the "changernumber" still in it is just another attempt from the dvdlobby remote tab for the "bluray" player
The 7000es changer has "NETWORK" selected under the serial or installer setup.
Latest Mlserver
Latest DVDLOBBY
I also issued the Bmode broadcast command and recevied no error back from plugin
Do I need to do something with the device #1 alias BDP1somewhere ?

You need to look at where the MLServer commands are coming from. Seeing <<ChangeNumber>> in the event log tells me you are issuing changer commands from outside of DVDLobby. MLServer does not know how to translate <<ChangeNumber>> into anything useful. You would need to change those MLServer commands <<ChangeNumber>> would become something like {{Movies_Selection_ChangerNumber_{{clientname}}}}

The BPDx alias is automatically assigned as the plugin discovers the changers.

Here is my understanding of what I am trying to do and at least what has been somewhat successful until I started on the IP controls.

Ipad screens for now I am just using as a "remote control" not trying to load movies although that was working fine.. If I clicked on the artwork for a movie in my Sony DVP995v.. my default play command in DVDlobby would swap my Yamaha receiver HDMI input to the DVD changer input...it would select the movie, the changer would load the movie and begin at the menu..all via the slinke commands in the default play for that movie. The REMOTE selected on the IPAD would allow play pause etc. with no issues via slinke IR commands. The RXa2000 remote if selected would send the Yamaha various commands also mapped in the DVDlobby plugin. If the movie was in my BDPCX960 all that the system would do is swap to that HDMI input via the slinke command to the Yamaha and then the bluray "remote" on the ipad would allow play pause stop menu and navigate the XMB on the player. All of this worked from the IPAd or a pc running a browser session..

Now I have added arcsoft totaltheatre5 and the CX7000 since the price for the "B" stock players is 399. I moved all the discs from the 960 to the 7000es. For testing prior to deleting my dvd database and starting over all I was trying to do was use the same IPAD screen but with a new "REMOTE TAB" from DVD lobby that would map to the IP controlled changer. Since my other remote tabs all work I assumed the same format could be used so I pasted the wiki commands directly into a NEW REMOTE labeled BLURAY.. example MLCX7000ES|<<ChangerNumber>>~Pause This was just to see if the player would pause from the IPAD remote. As another example the remote for the rx2000 has MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|rx2000:volume_up which the slinke sends via mini jack to the yamaha..

Can you tell me an actual dvdlobby remote command that would map to the plugin?? That way at least I could verify the player interface? I realize the complexity of the Cinemar software makes it difficult to decypher user problems like I am having but usually i either stumble on my mistake with guidance from all of you gurus or you point out a mistake. It throws me that a concept that was working " the remotes from the IPAD" defined in dvdlobby would not just work as before but with the use of a "new remote" that mapped to the IP plugin commands.. Anyway thanks for the help

AV.BDP1{{movies_selection_changernumber_{{clientname}}}}|Pause

OK this command works from the REMOTE when I press the pause button...so I'll update all the remote commands and be good to go I hope.

Thanks again for the help,
