Possible to synchronize playback of two mp3 players?

Postby Wysocki » Tue Oct 28, 2008 5:42 pm

I have Musiclobby controlling J.River on the server to play music in most of the house. In my office though, I have no audio or speaker cables run from the server, all I have is cat5 for my network. When I'm playing a song at the server, I'd like to also have it playing via the speakers attached to the pc in my office room. This would require some sort of sync signal sent from J.River on the server to my pc via the network to keep the playback synchronized so that it wouldn't drive me crazy walking in and out of the office room.

I know J.River has some sort of music server built in, but I'm not sure that's what's needed here. I want the server pc to play the same song at the same time as my client pc in my office. Possible?
