there is still a problem. Now you can see it on the screen and postion the box, but when you launch it, the data does not scroll. when in edit mode I can see it scroll along the top of the screen just fine, but in launch or design it does nothing. it is on the top layer as well.

Here is what I have in the box

{currentdayofweek}}, {{currentmonthstr}} {{currentdayofmonth}} {{currenthmalt}} {{currentampm}} Outside Temp {{davisweather_outside_temp_1}}°F System Temp {{davisweather_closettemp_1}}°F~1024~30~3

bigDvette,

Is the information you posted in the label field?

It should be.

I just tried it and it worked.

One thing to try, redownload MainLobby, then install...make sure the date of LibraryMainLobby.swf is 02/04/09 - 12:06 PM.

My library files has the datestamp you have below and yes the field I put is in the label column. I've even just put my name in that field and it doesn't work. I can see it scrolling fine in edit mode. do you have a screen you want to send me and I will open it up and see if it is working?

I was asking if you wanted to send me a file you know works. Me sending a file doesn't prove it used to work. Is there a file in the libary 19 content folder that uses this control? If not, if you send me one I can see if it works on my system.

Hi Mario,

I installed latest ML version. Marquee still doesn't work. I see what Dave sees. In edit mode, the preview is working ... but not visible in design or launch mode. I loaded the object on a new blank scene.

Tracked it down this time. Had to do an update to the core mainlobby application.

Update to the following:

YES! Works for me. :D

I'm probably going to use this for breaking news alerts and special alert notices. Because the text must move slowly (any speed above 3 is choppy), I will use it sparingly. Still ... nice addition to ML.

PS We call this a "Crawl" in the TV biz.

Thanks,

Ron

I as well implemented this crawl with coastal weather alerts on my main screen.
Looks good as long as you keep the speed slow (2 to 3). Good addition as Ron noted.
Thanks!

Great to hear guys.

I've been out of the video production business for about 12 years. But I should have known better and called it a Text.Crawl. :)

Mario,

I was in TV as well in another life - now I sell toilets for a living. I think you got the better deal.

Yeah - I hear selling toilets is a "clean" living, but can be "draining".

Sorry...couldn't resist.
