Video Storm plug in work for CMX88

Postby Ranger Home Automation » Thu Oct 08, 2009 11:40 am

Plug in says for CMR88. I have a CMX88 on the way as well as the ML Plug in. WIll they be compatible? ALl the same features except the CMR88 allows for all 16 to be configured for video or audio. THe CMX88 is all 8x8. Perfect for me.

Please tell me the plug in will work on the CMKX88.

Thanks

Both have RS232 but the CRX88 has "xport". Does that make a difference?

I googled xport but cannot ascertain exactly what it means.

Hey Ranger,

Can't answer your question directly but it does NOT work on my CMX44 so I would guess your results may be similar. I get an error message saying the plugin does not recognize the driver? Since it's plain old simple ascii serial I'm not sure why that's important. I asked about broadening support of the existing VS plugin for more of the VS devices a while back but received no answer. Understandably there are bigger fish to fry.

I have been using the MLGD plugin with good results. I think it's the same price but you get to have all the fun of writing it yourself. :)

There is a brand new MatrixSwitcher Family manager and VideoStorm driver that supports the entire family of Video Storm switchers. It has not been made public yet because the Avatrix driver still needs to be written. If you have a VideoStorm or Neothings switch and would like to use the new plugin and drivers send me an email.
