CSM42 Question

Postby sfreiman » Sat Nov 04, 2006 4:31 pm

Am I reading correctly that the MLMatrixSwitcher plug in also works with the VideoStorm CSM42?

I want to be able to switch three component video and digital audio sources (3 x Sony '875 DVD Changers) to two different outputs (upstairs and downstairs). It appears the CSM42 can do this.

Is there syntax that can be used with variables in DVDLobby so that the CSM42 will switch properly when the DVD in the appropriate changer is chosen? My current two changer set up does this.

Yes, the Matrix Family plugin works with the video storm and Neothings.
Yes, that should work.

The CSM42 is not a serial controlled device. You would have to send IR to the device through hardware like the Global Cache or USBUIRT.

The MLMatrixSwitcher plugin is designed for serial control. It is not needed for the CSM42. But does support the CRM62 and CRM84.

Sorry, should have looked at the model number you referenced.

Actually, I may just go the route of replacing my ES receiver with a later model. The new models have the three (versus 2) inputs and switching built in that I need. This makes more sense dollar for dollar in my case.
