Problems with plugin

Postby jackpod » Fri Jan 19, 2007 10:08 am

I got my Neothings Borrego 8x2 switch yesterday and the plugin. First, this is an AWESOME matrix switch, well built, functions well...
Second, downloaded the plugin. There are some issues. First, the installer puts the dll in a sub directory of \mlserver\plugins\mlmatrixswitcher so mlserver doesn't find it. I copied it to the plugins directory, restarted MLServer and it found it but when I right click->settings I get an error in the log

Error #91 object variable or with block variable not set raised by mlserver function cmdsettings_click attempting to call settings function in plugin neothings

running MLServer 3.0.190

Please help! I want to start designing my scenes

jackpod,

The installation locations were correct. They are supposed to be installed into that folder. Hopefully you haven't registered them. So just delete them.

You'll need to install the MLMatrixSwitcher Family plugin.
http://www.cinemaronline.com/mlserver.m ... tcher.html

Then you'll find MLMatrixSwitcher in your plugins list which is where you add your Neothings device.

Then look in your MLSErver > Documentation folder for the manual.

Mario, No I didn't register any files. I downloaded the file from my login page. I will follow the above instructions

Thanks!

Mario, I got the plugin installed but it can not find the switch (using onboard serial port) so I did some testing with hyperterm. I can see the switch but it appears there might be some differences in the commands. Also there is not an option in the plugin for an 8x2, which also could be the problem. There is a serial protocol manual that came with the switch, maybe the programmer could take a peek, and as always I am willing to beta test

So for now I will set it up for IR

Jack,

We're one step ahead of you. The programmer is already looking into the protocol. Hoping to have somethign for you to test later next week.

One of our programmers has it on the todo list, but there are still some other existing plugins with bugs that he's fixing before he can get started on this one. It is on the list though.

Pssst! any word? I'm in no hurry, I am controlling it via serial with my wonderful USBIR6, but please don't let it fall into a black hole :D
