v4 and Insteon

Postby fcwilt » Tue Aug 13, 2013 7:45 pm

Hi,

Just getting started with v4.

I was experimenting with Insteon to see where the technology is today and had setup a few new dual-band devices and some scenes with HouseLinc. Everything worked fine with that.

I then imported the XML export file from HouseLinc into the MLServer Insteon "device". That went fine and I was able to control all of the devices from ML and the status of all devices in ML was updated when making changes to the devices from outside ML.

However even though the XML import brought in the HouseLinc created scenes I could not trigger them from ML.

Any ideas? Should they work?

Thanks!
Regards, Frederick C. Wilt

It would be helpful to see your logs in the Insteon driver to see what's getting sent.
Also a snapshot of your import in our system showing the scenes.

You should be able to activate the scene by turning it on. Lighting|<<id>>~On where <<ID>> is the Insteon scene ID.

Hi,

Attached are screen shots of the Insteon devices as imported into MLServer and the Insteon device log when trying to activate and deactivate the one and only scene.

The scene works from inside HomeLinc.

The two LampLinc devices the scene controls work from within MLServer.

Thanks!
