Will do. I thought DVDLobby/MLDMR would be a replacement for Gracenotes and not a supplement.

And thanks for the offer. It might take me a few days before I get back to this as work is keeping me busy right now.

Followup.... Gracenote is turned on and all the discs have been "loaded" in the player. I also added two more DVDs just for fun. The Star Trek BD is still misidentified as "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" (well actually it is misidentified as a 2-disc combo pack of Wrath of Khan Voyage Home). Inception is identified correctly. Star Trek the DVD times out with that same error message ("You must have a subscription...") and the other two DVDs identify correctly.

Also, scanning a disc range doesn't work. I entered 6-10 for a slot range and the CX7000ES log gave the following errors:
CMD [1~DiscDirect~6-10~1~1]
InsertCheckSum error at line #60 - Type mismatch
Docmd: Changer [1] Sending [0]
DoCmd Error at line #3055 - Method '~' of object '~' failed

I know I scanned a range of disc slots with the older version of DVDLobby using the 777 plugin (and I know I got really good results from that scan too). Scanning each slot individually really isn't an option. I could carefully move the discs slot-by-slot and use the Change Player Wizard. That would undoubtedly be faster than scanning 200 discs one at a time.

But so far this is really disappointing. Any tips?

I would buy the yearly sub if you could scan everything in multiple players. If you have to manually click on each one at at time I don't see the value over manually searching from DVDLOBBY's "search" function. I realize there is more XML data but mostly I care about the title and artwork, not all the extra stuff like director, genre etc.

The "DoCmd Error at line #3055 - Method '~' of object '~' failed" error is a result of the changer not initializing its UPNP software correctly. You need to physically reboot the changer to correct this. Hard power off and then power on.

There is no "give me a list of all your titles" type command for the changer. The only way we can tell what is in the changer is to physically mount the disc and wait for the changer to broadcast the disc information. Regardless of how it is done there is no other option but to manually mount every title one by one. It is possible to fully automate the cataloging of an entire CX7000ES changer. We simply did not have a changer available to us for testing and there are a lot of moving parts that need to be tested. If someone wanted to provide me an accurate list of titles in the changer and access to their system for a couple of days I could get the automated process working.

Since I actually updated from a 995V almost full and a 960 with only around 130 BluRays my actual DVDLOBBY database was mostly good. I actually pulled some "DIRECTV" TIVO mpeg DVDs that I made from the 995 so I thought it would be easier to use either the Cinemar solution or the My Movies..to just reindex everything. I paid for My Movies then discovered that it does not work on DVD titles only BluRay. Then realized that the cinemar solution worked via a button on a scene ( I think i read that somewhere ) since I only run the HTML IPAD pages on my IPAD and Desktop using safari I don't have that function installed and of course didn't buy the yearly lookup plugin. So I just had to manually go through and delete a bunch of DVDs that I pulled and update the "changer number" field and update some of the titles manually in content manager. Not too painful. Still have some issues with my default play command but I printed the wiki pages for the MLserver stuff and hope to get a handle on the "parsing" of commands, variables, and other stuff so I can fix my system to swap inputs based on the changer number.

One other thing that is odd. It seems like sometimes one time the player won't respond to commands and you get errors. After turning it on manually some of the features work but some generate errors. Powered off and on both players and then the opposite one started doing the same thing. I shutdown mlserver..deleted registry key again, restarted it refound everything and again one would work and one would not. I am at work so don't have logs but will add some later this evening or over the weekend. I want to finish this up so I can enjoy some movies. I did try sending the BMODE command again to both players and at least the plugin didn't post errors. It looks like the plugin does a syntax check before attempting to send to the player is that correct? So if you send something and get back a response of fd the player received the command ?

Dave: I sent you a PM but haven't heard back. I'm willing to provide you this kind of access. But I'm getting anxious to load up the new changer with all my movies, and don't know if that would be to your benefit or detriment for this kind of tinkering.

Does the CX7000ES plugin support selection of title and chapter with DiscDirect? Whenever I use DiscDirect the changer loads the correct disc, but never goes to the title and chapter I specify. If the disc is already loaded nothing happens, whereas I would expect it to start playing at the title and chapter given in the command.

The last two parameters on the DiscDirect command are for Title and Chapter. They default 1 and 1 but you could change them.

Problem fixed. After I power cycled the 7000 it started paying attention to the title and chapter in DiscDirect commands. Unfortunately it looks like the two Blu-rays I have (Star Trek and Inception) don't allow direct access to title and chapter while the previews are running. I find this sort of restriction reprehensible and disgustion (not to mention annoying). So although I haven't lost any functionality with the DVDs (from what I had with the 777) it looks like some Blu-rays are authored in an annoying way that makes direct play impossible.

I am still having some issues with the plugin. I will try to explain but it does not make much sense. I have 2 7000's both show up in the discover windows as 1 BDP1 and 2 BDP2 I have a power on and a power off button on the NAV footer page on my IPAD screen using the following code.

This is the BIG GREEN POWER BUTTON ON BOTTOM LEFT OF IPAD nav_home_footer

Macro|MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|rx2000:Main_On!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger1:power_on!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger2:power_on!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger3:power_on!av.bdp1|power~on!av.bdp2|power~on

This is the RED POWER OFF BUTTON I ADDED ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF IPAD

Macro|MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|rx2000:Main_Off!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger1:power_off!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger2:power_off!MLServeCmd.MLSlinke|CdChanger3:power_off!av.bdp1|power~off!av.bdp2|power~off

The issue is that this command will work sometimes to turn on the 2 changers but other times it will only turn on one player. If on sometimes it will only turn off ONE player. I have seen the behavior with both BDP1 and BDP2.

When it fails the plugin log shows
4/1/2011 2:47:46 PM CMD [BDP1~power~on]
4/1/2011 2:47:46 PM Docmd: Changer [1] Sending [02038060011c]

I saw in the thread that this was a upnp error, however I have unplugged both players deleted the registry entry reran plugin and sometimes it will work to power both on and sometimes it will work to power both off but then it gets in the state wher only one will respond. I also tried sending the bmode commands but don't see any response really on the players to those commands... This is driving me crazy as occasionally everything works good. I can pick a movie from either player and the yamaha swaps inputs the players load the correct movie and all is good. I just can't get the reliable control of on and off. Once on they both will function at least until I try to turn them off and then one usually hangs but not always.

Help !! Any ideas would be welcome.. At one point also I noted that the ipad command would parse in the mlserver log but only one set of av.bdp commands was getting to the 7000 log.. I played around with changing the commands and now they both show up in the 7000 plugin reliably it just does not seem to want to respond.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Restarting MLserver makes both players work one time without error both power on and power off. Once player one hangs in the OFF state I have to restart MLserver to recover.

Any thoughts ???

When you see this

4/1/2011 3:08:47 PM CMD [BDP2~power~on]
4/1/2011 3:08:47 PM Docmd: Changer [2] Sending [02038060011c]
4/1/2011 3:08:47 PM DoCmd Error at line #3055 - Method '~' of object '~' failed

It means that the Sony Changer is not responding to the UPNP command. I have always solved this issue by physically powering off the changer (unplug it) and then let it start back up. Restarting MLServer does not help because it is the changer that will not respond to the command.

Have you turned on broadcast mode on both changers?

I have removed power waited a few minutes and then powered back up. I have sent av.bdp1|bmode~on and same for av.bdp2. Tried on and 1 for bmode while watching the plugin log and do not see error so assume bmode is set

Why would restarting mlserver restore things?
