I have a CX777es being controlled by the MLCX777es plugin and will add a CX7000es changer soon. Do I need both plugins or will the CX7000es plugin operate both?

You will need both plugins to communicate with each one.

Hi Mario!

I guess I didn't phrase my question properly. Can you tell when/if the cx7000es will be supported/integrated into the MLDMR/DVDLobby applications such that I can auto lookup and add to the data base for bd movies in the 7000 - just like I already do for the 777es? (I know the 7000 will do this on its own- but its not part of the dvdlobby database) If this is not coming relatively soon, is it possible for me to modify the screens, menus, etc to give that capability to the 7000? If possible, what is the best way to approach it?

thanks for the help

John

John,

Not sure I understand you.

The CX7000ES will allow you to look up standard DVD's automatically. You can specify slot 1 to 400 if you like.

Dave has devised a way for Blu-Rays to be looked up and will elaborate in a future post.

The CX7000ES will automatically catalog its discs as they are inserted into the changer provided it has a constant Internet network connection.

DVDLobby 3.90 will ship with new sample scenes that will demo the cataloging of discs in the changer. Essentially it will be as simple as setting the Changer # and Slot #('s) to scan. Then the plugin will take over and mount the disc, grab the meta data from the changer, do an AMG lookup and then write the new data to the Movies database. It will also know if the title is a Blu-Ray or standard DVD and set the media type accordingly.

I previously had been using DVDLObby (V3.99.15) with two DVP CX777ES DVD changers via the CX777ES plug in. I've purchased a BDP CX7000ES and want to now use it in place of one of the CX777ES. So, the configuration would be one BDP CX 7000ES and one CX777ES. Do I need the BDP CX 7000ES plug in or can I name it Changer 2 in the old plug in, keep the old DVDLobby movie data referencing the old changer and have it work? Any tips you can provide on how to best to painlessly convert over to the new changer with this new configuration would be helpful.

You will need to use the MLCX7000ES plugin.
If the changer it is replacing was changer #2 then you will have to change the associated player for all titles with changer = 2 from CX777ES to CX7000ES. You would then make sure the "Alias" name for the CX7000ES changer in the CX7000ES plugin was set to BDP2.

Then the default play movie commands should work without modification.

Or you could modify your existing CX777ES play movie command to add the Conditional test
If Changer = 1 then
issue CX777ES discdirect command
else
issue CX7000ES discdirect command.

In your case it will probably be easier to modify the current play movie command.

Does anyone have a problem with the CX7000ES where you cannot power on or off the unit without having an HDMI display connected ?

I want to play trailers while the 7000es loads the disc, but it will not load unless the display is connected.

Version 3.90 of the UPNP driver doesn't appear to have triggers. Does version 3.99 have them? Can I safely move to 3.99 in a MLServer 3 environment?

The current drivers do not have any triggers because the changer does not have any events to work with. What kind of triggers are you look for?

Argh. I saw the triggers in the 777 driver awhile back and thought they would be available for the 7000. I need a trigger when the changer actually starts playing a disc.
