CX777ES just powers off

Postby Blade » Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:11 pm

I have seen this a couple times now.

We will be watching a movie on the CX777ES changer when all of a sudden the changer will just power off. It is very strange. I go downstairs to the changer and it is completely off. I have to press the power button on the changer and it comes back on.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thx

Blade,

Mine does this as well. In fact I think that most of them do. I did some research last year and as it turns out there is a firmware update to fix the issue but Sony never released it to the public. You are supposed to send your unit in (I can't remember where in the country). It happens so infrequently on mine that I have never found it worth it to unload 400 discs and be without it.

It hadn't happened in a while and then showed up again last weekend.

Here is some additional info:

Thanks for the link.

Well that sucks :(
Why doesnt Sony just release the firmware that fixes the power off issue. Just proves that Sony just doesn't care about their customers once they buy their products. That is why I do not buy their products anymore.
