BDP-CX7000ES Network Connection Issue

Postby McGrinch » Sat Feb 23, 2013 8:25 pm

I bought a BDP-CX7000ES brand new several years ago, but do to a couple of house moves and long hours at work I am just now setting it up. I was unable to make a network connection using DHCP and automatic location of a DNS server. However, if I manually enter an IP address and all of the other information (including a DNS server), it works. Any ideas on why this would be?

Once I made the connection, I updated the firmware to the latest and still could not get it to automatically connect.

Thanks!

Not sure why you would want anything other than a known IP address, however check:

DHCP is enabled for your router
You have enough valid DHCP addresses available on your router
The DHCP is on on the Sony player, and same subnet (typically most devices look on 255.255.255.0 assuming 253 addresses in your pool)

Return to “Sony”
