BugFix

• Drop lists where editable, they are now non-editable
• Runtime error when adding single zone
• Controller number not always being formated in the 3 digit format
• Removed -- There was a cancel button on the form to select the master zone when auto adding zones to a new controller. This buttons functionality is no longer needed and was missleading in its labeling
• If the user did not select a model of zone to use when auto adding zones to a new controller an error would occur. The model selection is now forced to the first model in the list.
• The number field when adding a controller was a textbox which allowed users to enter non valid values. It is now a non editable drop down list.
• There was a problem with the functionality of the controller zone list when adding a new zone. The list will now contains 99 zones and will default to the first zone in the list when adding a new zone.
• When adding a new zone to a program, the addition was allowed when no program was selected
• Program not running after a run command issued. The active program status variable will show any error in running a program when the RUN command is issued

Added
• When removing a controller all zones associated with that controller will be removed
• Check for zones with duplicate number, alias, or controller zone when adding a new zone
• Check for controllers with duplicate number or alias when adding a new controller

rain8 lockups

Postby dr.frazier » Sun Aug 12, 2007 11:19 pm

I keep getting lockups on my rain8 controller for no apparent reason. The zones will read as open and the program will go thru its course as if it is working but the valves do not open and there is no watering. It can be reset by unplugging the serial cable only. Restarting mlserver or powercycle to the rain8 does not reset the system. It seems to happen every 3-5 days. Could this be a buffer problem with the serial port? If so how do I fix it?

Thanks

Randy

Hi Randy,

Please check Auto Log to File on your Controller Log tab. Then send us the file when you see the problem occur.

Mario,

Thanks for the unexpected and very nice update to the irrigation plugin.

The seasonal adjust is an interesting approach the the automated irrigation dilemma of how long to water as seasons change.

I'm forever tinkering with times and schedules and spending more time running things manually than not.

I've often thought about moisture sensors.....but this is less complicated.

Another step toward a smarter home! I like that.

Hi Chris,

Thanks - I agree. The Seasonal Adjust option will be extremely useful and allow users to have a single program that can be tweaked to run longer or shorter.

We just rolled out the new Irrigation beta to a select few individuals. If any one else is interested or did not receive the beta let me know. You must be an existing Rain8Net customer to participate.
