MLSRV, ELKM1 and multiple thermostats

Postby jwc » Fri Jun 05, 2009 8:39 am

Currently using ML with ELKM1.

Getting ready to add (at least) four thermostats for 4 different HVAC units. Would like to use the RCS TS40.

If the TS40's are connected to the ELKM1 (via RS485), can they be accessed by MainLobby's ELK plugin (communicating through the ELK)?

Or do I need the MLRSCThermo Plugin and an RCS 8 RS485 to RS232 hub?

Can I use both methods (for redundancy)?

Also, can either one of these connections send text messages to the TS40 display from MLServer?

[updated 2009-06-16] This post has been on the forum for a couple of weeks without a response. Can someone suggest a source for this information? Thanks.

You can communicate via the ELK plugin to the RCS thermostats.

I don't think we can send text messages to the thermostat, but you should check the online wiki to be safe.

You wouldn't be able to use both plugins for redundancy.
