No response from Plugin

Postby djsl » Thu Dec 21, 2006 9:55 am

I have connected to the Elk M1 through serial port.

I get no response after installing the elk plugin. There are also no variables created.
The communication works because I am able to connect using Elkrp on the same serial port.

I have tried uninstalling uregistering the plugin and reinstalling with no help. Is there something I can try?

thanks

Jim

Jim,

Make sure you are not running and connected via the ElkRP software. If it is connected, you won't be able to connect from our software.

Otherwise, please post any data that is found in your Elk plugin Log.

The Elkrp is closed and the com port is open. When mlserver starts it takes over the com port.

The log shows the following

"Thermostat Timer Event"

which keeps repeating at the 60sec interval

I have it set up to check kp1 temp.

thanks

Jim

Double check baud settings.

Try restarting your ELK panel as well as MLServer and let us know how it goes.

I shut both down and restarted and still no variables, and no response from commands I send, and same log message.

I checked all the settings that you sent and they are all good.

Go into ElkRP and connect to your ELk.

Select Globals from the left under Folder Items.
Go to the tab labeled G29-G42 (Special).
Check all the boxes under Serial Port 0:
> Transmit Event Log
> Transmit Output Changes
> Transmit Lighting Changes
> Transmit Zone Changes
> Transmit Task Changes
> Transmit Keypad Keys

Make sure Serial Port 0 Baud Rate is also 115200.

Post a screen shot of the tab I mentioned in the post above if you wouldn't mind.

Mario here is the elkrp tab you wanted to see.

Also I have updated the firmware on the elk panel and the keypads.

I have Mlelk plugin version 1.3.24 mlserserver 3.0.149

As far as the elk log there are no entries, I clear the log and then try mlserver (after shutting down elkrp) and then when I go back and retreave the log there are no new entries.
I hope we are talking about the same log. I am getting it from the elkrp program tab.

Please upgrade to version 1.3.32 of the plugin. There was an error in the previous version that was blocking communications. The current version should correct this issue. All ElkM1 users should upgrade to this version immediately.
