Problems doing macro with MLGC

Postby albright_family » Sat Aug 18, 2012 3:55 pm

Hiya folks,

I am getting my system back online after SO MANY months of it not working. However I am experiencing a problem, I have 2 separate inputs on my TV that I am using for things, input #3 is for my DirecTV/Wii/video off of the receiver, input #5 is for HDMI from my HTPC for watching movies. I am trying to do a macro that will send the necessary commands out to change the input automatically, but when I do it in a macro it doesn't work, but from the test IR command it works just fine.

Here are my commands:
testing macro:
--------
Macro|
MLGC|SendIR~Television~Input!
MLPause|1!
MLGC|SendIR~Television~3!
MLPause|1!
MLGC|SendIR~Television~Enter

What happens is it seems to "skip over the "3" button being entered, instead it looks as if I have hit the input button 3-4 times (I will change from input 3 to input 6, then to 1, then to 4, etc.)

What could be causing this?

Thank you

I have noticed that the MLGC plugin takes a few clicks to get the command to work. Do you have a descrete command to use for the inputs? I have a Sony TV that I am able to send a comand to get the input to change, and it would be one command instead of three.

Unfortunately, no with the Toshiba there is no one button for the inputs.

Try using a MLGC macro instead of the MLServer macro. The timings may be more accurate for you. Show the resulting MLGC log if it doesn't work properly.

I created the macro to run the necessary commands in MLGC, the resulting actions I see on the TV is the input box comes up and jumps down a few entries and then disappears (it never does the same number of jumps, sometimes it jumps down 3 entries, other times 2. (I have a total of 8 inputs)

Here is the resulting log file from MLGC:

Re: Problems doing macro with MLGC

Postby albright_family » Sun Aug 19, 2012 12:59 am

Well I figured it out, I had to mix in a command that was on a different port of the iTach. So I send a command to port 3, then to port 2 and then back to port 3. Here is the finalized code:
Macro|
MLGC|SendIR~Television~Input:Delay~1!
MLGC|SendIR~Receiver~CD:Delay~1!
MLGC|SendIR~Television~5!
MLDVDLobby|PlayMovie~{{movies_selection_dvdNumber_{{clientname}}}}~{{movies_selection_DiscNumber_{{clientname}}}}!
ChangeScene.Media.Movies.Remotes.DVD

And for some strange reason this works. *Go figure*
Here is the log backing it up:
