Issues with equipment responding to GC IR commands

Postby mgreenwald » Mon Aug 17, 2009 12:34 pm

I am setting my the GC100 and appear to have things working - Denon plugin-works, I see the IR flasher respond and the port status light respond when peforming "test IR commands" through the GC plugin. The challenge is two fold:

1. The equipment doesnt respond to the "Test IR command" - is it supposed to or is this just to test communication path; i am guessing the former; here is my log -

OpenTCPPort at 10.0.1.211 on port 4998

2. When sending a command such as MLServeCmd.MLGC100|SendIR~Onkyo~PowerOff - i see the GC unit respond like it does when using the plugin test commands (test IR command) but nothing happens. It is only on the ir side as the denon plugin works with no issues. Likely a bad code? If it is a code, I have learned the pronto command an pasted into the value - this should work. The current command is:

PowerOff (onkyo receiver) - 0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 05E5 0155 0055 0015 0E35

3. Question - can the DirecTv plugin (serial to USB) be used with GC-100 or does it need direct connect to the PC. I am assuming the IR function would work if not.

Thanks to any and all for the feedback.

Your first instinct is good, it is likely to be a bad code, especially if this is the only code not working for the device. If however no codes for the device work then check the GC100 port is set correctly.

You can do this by browsing to the devices IP address, click on IR and Sensor 1. Check it is set to IR and carrier and not IR only or sensor. Im assuming you have a 100-12 or 100-18 since you are using module 4 port 1.
