Cool User Interface for Russound using Sliding Panels

Postby mcascio » Mon Oct 23, 2006 7:16 pm

In trying to take advantage of some of the new Sliding Panels, we came up with this interface.

Image

What's cool about it?
> Press the Zone Name and a panel slides up allowing you to select any Zone.
> Press the Source button and another panel slides up allow users to select the source while showing the current active source.
> Preprogrammed for Russound owners.
> Status of Power and Volume Control

This will be included free with the next update to MainLobby (Library0019) - this may come in handy for smaller 7" tablets.

We're thinking about making another sliding panel that reveals when pressing the top bar to do a quick jump to the main scenes like lighting, security, etc.

Sorry,

Our servers were down most likely when you were trying to view the image. The image should now be viewable.

Thanks Guys.

The Graphics and Scenes are now available in the latest MainLobby 3.00.35 release. Another great thing is you as the user can specify the exact x and y coordinate of the sliding panel. So add more buttons if you need to in order to accomodate your needs.

Nice, clean interface. The way I like them! What graphic number is this in 3.00.35?

sfreiman,
best is to open the 0019_smooth_home.mls and explore it that way to see what library objects, the coding and layers. There are several graphical objects used.

Tip: I install MainLobby new builds to Cinemar_New directory.
I then sort using Date and copy the updated files into my Cinemar directory so I can test. I keep my mls files in a MLS\other directories so that experimenting won't break my normally used scenes. But, with this, I have gotten used to using SaveAs instead of Save to make sure I am saving to the correct directory each time.

Me Likes it!! Me wants it.

How do you implement two sliding panels?

Let me guess, you do a MLCmd|loadOverlayScene right?

John

John,

Take a look at the sample scene 0019_smooth_home.mls and you'll see how its put together.

You can only show one sliding menu at a time. Using MLCmds you can move and position the sliding menus on screen. When loading a subsequent menu, hide it first, load it, position it before the slide, unhide it, the slide it into place.

Smooth or Mario; Did you ever progress further with this main interface? Did you ever get to the point of adding sub-menus? It is just such a clean look and I am getting tired of the existing interface.

If I had the time, I would do a new look from ground up.
Thanks!

Not sure what you mean...the interface ships with MainLobby Client.

You can add submenus if you want. Especially if you use MLMenu to drive those submenu choices.
