VM1 died, now what?

Postby kirkfrey » Sun May 22, 2011 1:30 pm

We had a power outage and now my Russound VM1 doesn’t seem to want to power up. Two things: Anyone have any ideas on what to do to try to bring it back to life; and also if it is dead what options would I have to replace it? Looking for HDMI based options…

Thanks in advance…
Kirk

Russound has a great non-warranty repair service. I had them work on a CAV6.6 recently . Unless prices have changed, they should repair or replace the VM-1 for $250 flat fee. Call Dave Dickinson at Dealer Services, Russound, 5 Forbes Rd., Newmarket, NH 03857 866(dash)888(dash)7466. He will send a form and an RA number.

Don't know if the same applies, but two years ago I had a CAV6.6 take a similar holiday after a lightning storm. I brought it back to life by reloading the firmware in both processors and rebooting.
