Hmm, if you strung enough commands together, think one of those things could get a beer for you?

I can just see it. A beer button, a get the door button, a clean the litterbox button...

I know this is beyond the thing's capability, but a fella can dream

I need one to go to the office for me and attend meetings.

Better yet, soliders in the field could be equipped with a palm, a stack of robos and some C4.

They could send them into Iraqi caves and blow the hell out of stuff. They'd be even more fun with motion sensors so they could wait for a target.

Imagine how embarassing it would be to get taken down by a $99 robot.

Maybe not a $99 robot, but that is closer to reality than you think. http://irobot.com/governmentindustrial/ ... ?prodid=34 Just think, like skynet in terminator, just not evil :)

Hey I just stumbled across this thread -- I am the author of the above. :D

I entered the Servo Magazine Robosapien hacking contest:

http://www.servomagazine.com/hack-a-sapien/ using this set up and just found out I won first prize.

Here is my complete entry:

http://home.comcast.net/~robosapien/servomain.htm

Needless to say MainLobby will be featured in Servo (December issue I believe) and the New York Times is also doing a piece on the contest.

Wanted to let you guys know.

Congrats jsamans,

Job well done and very interesting to say the least. :)

Let us know when it hits the press and we'll post it in our news/announcements.

Now if you can teach that thing to program MainLobby 3 - we'll be in business. :)

Bingo :)

Although I must say MainLobby is very intuitive and I have a lot of previous experience with Girder and IR doing HTPCs. Of course...everything seems intuitive compared to Girder

I am using the Robosapien bipedal robot as a base:
