MusicLobby strangeness

Postby hobie_od » Fri Jan 26, 2007 7:09 am

It seems that MusicLobby is no longer updating correctly with clients, but it does work ok on the localhost.

My MuL.swf will control and display information, but it does not update. I have to switch to a different scene to get the information to update. It is like I get still images instead of motion pitchers.

I updated to the beta MuL, but it didn't help. I will roll-back this evening.

I am using the 62 MainLobby.

When using a scene with MuL. The scene only updates when I change to a different scene and come back to the MuL scene. All my buttons send the correct commands, but the now playing list, time left, progress indicator etc. do not update themselves unless I change scenes and come back to them. When I come back the are correct at that instant, but they are not updating.

I rolled back to an old MLS and all is fine again.

Goto MLS214 reboot and updates are broken.

This actually occured because I was working on a client's system on my own network.

It seems that MY MuL server is messed up by another server being on the same network even though both are licensed.

I just changed the network name on the client system so that they are in different workgroups and that seemed to take care of things.

The J. River musiclobbyserver will connect to the first available MLServer MLMediaCenter plugin if all are on the same network.

I didn't realize this. I thought it would check the localhost first.

No, MusicLobby 3 is the first application that uses a broadcast "beacon" to "find" the MLServer (wherever on the network it is). This simplifies simple system configuration, but we probably should have a manual override to allow for discrete connection between J. River and MLServer for more complicated setups.
