djsl updated scenes

Postby djsl » Wed Jan 09, 2008 2:50 pm

I have been updating my scenes and I think I am finally happy with them. Of course that won’t last long!

I have used a lot of artwork and backgrounds from Dan and Lathanm from this forum, and a lot of ideas from others.

Sharing is a great thing!

If anyone wants any of the artwork or scenes I will be more than happy to post them.

My home scene is a basic 0019 scene with a news line and a severe weather alerts using the mlrssfeed plugin. The media pages is where I changed to the darker scenes.

For temperature control I use 2 apprillairs 8870's with 3 remote sensor units. I use homeseer plugin for this, it has been very reliable.

The media page shows the status of all zones.
I am using a russound 6 zone amplifier with no keypads, the only control is from the wall touchscreens. The TV's use direct-tv boxes which I am controlling with the Mldirect-Tv plugin. The rest is all through usbuirt and the plugin.

This scene has two pages, the second is accessed through the "more channels" button.

The third scene is the dvd remote, it pops up after the movie is selected.

I have not changed the weather scenes much but I have added the motion radar page which we use alot. I used the batch file that was posted in these forums that downloads a new map every 10 minutes and then loops them togethr to get the motion.

The reef tank page shows all the status of the lights, pumps, fans. For the ph, water temp, and orp I use an aquacontroller via a homeseer script.

In the temps page I get all the temps through temp05 one-wire through homeseer.

Very nice

Just curious but how much time do you think you have in this set?

Charles.

Charles I couldn’t tell you how long it took me to make these scenes, it has been an ongoing process.

Over the past year and a half when I first started making my own scenes I have constantly been changing them and adding to them.

If I had to start over from scratch and knew exactly how I wanted them to look, I could probably do it in a couple evenings.

It has been a lot fun making them, and they get a lot of use every day by everyone in the family through the touch screens on the walls.

Gnaffs the way I made the floor plans is I used chief Architect and Photoshop. Any floor plan design software should work as long it can export.

I had the floor plans already drawn out from my renovation. I exported them to a jpg format. I then used Photoshop to clean them up and I saved them as a png file. I then used the SWF Generator utility to make them swf's.

Thank You for the information.

How are you dealing with the multi zone audio? Are you using a multi zone amp?

If you are willing to share your scenes i am very interested.

Regards

Krister

Krister I will gather up the scenes and post them shortly.

I have included a picture of all the equipment that I use.
As far as for audio distribution I am using the Russound CAA66 with the russound plugin. I just have the amplifier without any wall controllers. I use my wall touchscreens instead.

Nice setup and look. I just upgraded to the new version of DVDLobby and look forward to your posting of files so I don't have to re-create the wheel.

Krister the Russound amp does have more than enough power for every day listening and has 6 zones. It is a little on the expensive side but for what it does it is well worth it.

It connects to the pc via serial cable and works flawlessly with the cinemar plugin.
