Nay Family Home Theater Screenshots

Postby dannay » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:20 pm

Here is a collection of screenshots from my theater- still a work in progress. I have borrowed (plagiarized) elements from lantham's excellent screening room interface and the standard 0019 and default mainlobby library buttons to come up with something of my own.

In my screenshots, the 1280X720 area to the left is what is shown on my projector, and the 800X600 area to the right is what is shown on my touchscreen.

This first screen is my home screen. The round, blue, glassy buttons are copied from lantham's screening room interface. The background is a mainlobby standard skin, and the border is the standard 0019 overlay.

This second screen shot shows what happens when TV is selected from the main menu. The SageTV program guide appears on the projector, and the TV remote control appears on the touch screen. All of the buttons in this screen come from either "The Screening Room" or the 0019 library. I communicate with SageTV using the sendmessage utility that comes with the program.

The other picture posted here shows what happens when "Live TV" is selected.

These screenshots show what happens when "DVD" is selected from the main menu. First, a modified version of DVDLobby appears. When a movie is selected, the scene changes to a TheaterTek DVD Remote Control.

This is my games menu. I can click on the Crash Day, Lego Star Wars, or Sid Meier's Pirates to play any one of those games. I still need to install "no-cd" hacks for two of the games, but you get the idea.

This is my lights menu. It can be accessed from any of the other screens. It controls my Lutron Spacer System Dimmers via the USBUIRT.

These are my weather-related scenes. The first one is the default when "Weather" is selected from the main menu. The 10-day forecast scene comes up when selected from the first weather scene. This just uses the weather functionality built into SageTV.

This last scene uses a menu I lifed from the Pixar website. My kids like the Pixar Short movies, and I wanted a way to get to them easily without traversing the DVDLobby interface. When one of these files is played, it brings up the Theatertek DVD Remote control scene just as if it were playing a longer movie.

Dannay,

Very impressive set up. One question,
How did yoy create the Nay Family Theater background?
