some advice for a newbie

Postby 99anndy99 » Thu Nov 23, 2006 12:10 pm

hi all,

I'm sure I'm missing out on something, as I dont know what command maps are for!... mlconditional, mlservcmd, etc.

I've had a look through some of the posts, which are quite specific. I'm just looking for an idea about what this extra programming stuff is useful for. I can program in some languages so I guess I can get used to it, but where to start? Are there any commands that 'most' people do? That will help me find how useful they are?

Is this an example...
When I'm playing music through jrmc, I have to press stop, before starting a movie in dvdlobby. do I need a command map thingy?

:?

Command Maps are Macros. Actually, they are now called Macro Commands in MLServer. They allow you to build a complex string of commands so you don't have to type it out every time.

To answer your other question... yes, you could use a Macro Command to stop Jriver and launch a DVD movie.
Hell-bent on automating everything! I’m too lazy to do anything else.
