MLServeCmd.MLCAV66|AllPower~On

Postby oaserani » Mon Jan 02, 2012 5:25 pm

A couple of things seem strange in the latest release of MLCAV66 -- I hadn't tried some of these commands in a while, so I'm a bit surprised....MLCAV66|AllPower~On actually turns all the zones off, just like MLCAV66|AllPower~Off. Tried it native straight from the server command window in MLServer to make sure it wasn't me or some macro. It seems that a couple of other things are strange/slow as well, in addition to the issues that we already had with the IR remote not triggering events in MLServer. Any ideas? Kind of annoying to have to tun off the zones one by one.

My MLCAV66|AllPower~On has not been working in MLS4. However, it does not turn the power off - just does nothing. Have not found a solution to this. MLCAV66|AllPower~Off does work to turn all zones off.

In MLS3, |Allpower~on turns all zones OFF. |Allpower~off DOES work as well to turn all zones off.

Post up a log from the Cav66 plugin that shows the all power on command and response. As I recall from my other thread, Dave was questioning whether anyone else was having trouble with the all power on command, albeit in MLS4. viewtopic.php?f=66&t=16716

Yes - show me the log because in every case I've checked I'm sending the exact command the RNet protocol document describes for all power off and on. So it leaves me very confused as to why it does not work.

The interesting bit from all of that is these two lines

1/5/2012 4:31:08 PM CMD: [AllPower~off] (12)
1/5/2012 4:31:08 PM GC-100 Sending 22 bytes [F0 7E 00 7F 0 00 70 05 02 02 00 00 F1 22 00 00 00 00 00 01 E F7]

When you examine the protocol document for zones "All Off" it says you need to send the following bytes
F0 7E 00 7F 00 00 70 05 02 02 00 00 F1 22 00 00 00 00 00 01 0E F7

If I run the RNet Basic Tester program and select Zone Events / All Off it wants to send
F0 7E 00 7F 00 00 70 05 02 02 00 00 F1 22 00 00 00 00 00 01 0E F7

So I am at a loss as to why it doesn't work.

Dave,

My RNet manual shows the following for All On

F0 7F 00 7F 00 00 70 05 02 02 00 00 F1 22 00 00 01 00 00 01 10 F7

OK, just tested the command in the manual that I posted and that fails as well. But this works on my CAV66 for all on

F0 7E 00 7F 00 00 70 05 02 02 00 00 F1 22 00 00 01 00 00 01 0F F7

I went back in time and looked at the V1 RNet protocol document and interestingly noted that the commands for all power on and off are different than what is posted in the V2 protocol document. So I have switched the AllPower strings to use the V1 protocol strings. Could someone install version 3.99.19 and let me know if they work?

neither all power on or all power off are working for me with this new version.

Your power off command used to work. If you switch back to this version and change the power on command to the version I posted earlier I think you will be sorted.....

Sorry that I posted the whole log...had barely a couple of minutes to test and grab it. I confirm. AllOn and Alloff now work properly.
