DirecTV IR Codes

Postby mcascio » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:03 am

Anyone have a complete list of all the IR codes for the DirecTV HR21 box? Ideally it's been created by someone already for the GC-100 plugin.

Thanks.

The DirecTV boxes can be set to 1 of 8 different code sets so you can handle multiple boxes in the same location. I switched over to the MLDirecTV serial plugin, but I think I still have the USBUIRT IR codes for the standard code set (1). If these will help, I can get them for you tonight. I don't use the GC, so if they are different, I can't help you there.

Murray, they should work. I'll have to see how I would obtain the other 7 sets of codes. I may need to check out remote central.

Mario, if the USBUIRT code set 1 works for you, I will do the other 7 sets of codes. I had been planning to do 4 more sets anyway as a backup in case I ever need to use IR rather than serial...doing a couple more than I had planned won't be a big deal. How soon do you need these? Another option would be to get your hands on a DirecTV remote and you could learn them without actually needing to have the box, although you would not get any confirmation that the code actually worked.

HI Murray,

I appreciate you going the extra mile...but you can hold off on the others for now. I might be able to download the codes into my universal remote and then xfer them. The project is still evolving, but we would eventually like to have all these codes readily available for both the USBUIRt and GC-100 for when the time arises.

Mario, I also found this on an jp1 remote site for slingboxes. If you or Dave know how to use the data from the RMDU files it might save everybody some time.http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4687

Hi Mario,
I have some bad news for you. I don't have the DirecTV HR2x DVR IR codes. I guess I just started right off with serial control and never set them up for IR control. I DO have the IR codes for the first 4 codesets for the DirecTiVo's, but that won't help you with the DirecTV branded DVR's.

If another user doesn't come forward with already learned DirecTV DVR IR codes, I'll try to learn one of the codesets in the next few days and send them to you.

Sorry, Murray

Hi Murray. No problem. I can just add the DirecTV device to my Harmony remote and learn in the codes on my end.
