We custom make touchscreens

Postby htfanintn » Tue Apr 13, 2004 3:26 pm

If you ever need a touchscreen, let me know - we custom make them. Some brands are more suitable for touchscreens to be built in. We have had great success with the Sony 15". We can make them with USB or Serial controllers.

htfanintn,

I'd be curious to know pricing and specs on your touchscreens.

I picked the 12.4" up on eBay (<$250) but it's 6" deep. I've still got my walls open and would rather put something a little smaller form factor (Depth wise) in the wall and go with a 15" with at least 1024x768 display.

I'd rather do it right the first time rather than bumping out the wall in the back of my closet.

Wysocki,
Having done some research on the CarPC touchscreen topic,
Xenarc - $420 ish

Lilliput - $260 ish likely less quality than xenarc with less than professional distribution and support.

StarVision - $240 no hands on experience yet. I will post when I get mine, hopefully later this week if the distributor is straight up and up.

some others at www.digitalww.com

For less hassle, buy the Xenarc.

Smooth..
I've ordered my Lilliput due in this week. I'm going to interface it to a mini itx based EPIA system running W98se. The case is about 10x8x2 inches so Im going to mount it inside a wall. I've read mixed reviews on the Lilliput (7") so I'll let you know how this works and how it holds up over the next couple weeks....
Thanks for all the great info!! :D

htfanintn,

Can you make the information public so that we can all decide if we are interested? Any pictures of the finished product would be helpful also.
