Who's using what?

How do you like it?

I want to integrate with with the Elk M1 Gold.

Feedback?

Thanks!

RCS TR40 (house) and TR16 (barn). Both Serial.
Work great.
Almost positive it will be or is supported by Elk. RCS and Elk partner on a few projects (touchscreen etc).

I use them via a RCS RS485 to RS232 hub to Homeseer.
Homeseer2.0 plugin isn't finished yet (in development).
The thermos do what I need them to do.

I'm Using an RCS TXB16. It's about 95% reliable with Jim Doolittle's plugin and integrates well with MainLobby. It's X10, so 95% is about as good as it's going to get without a bunch of single enhancement products that just on't fit into a rental property....

The 5% is rather annoying, though.

If I owned my home (and didn't have to move every 2-3 years) I'd of opted for a RS232/485 stat. The Zwave stats are promising, but not quite ready for prime time yet, judging by the messages I've seen (they're the same as my stat, but with a swave interface replacing the PSC05 X10 interface, which stil imits the amount of infor they can provide you).

I'm using two HAI RC80B's connected to Homeseer and controlled by MainLobby. They control two zones of heat and A/C. I also designed graphics so that the WAF is very high.

HAI RC-80B. Nice thermostat that works great with ML and HS. I also understand they work well with the ELK.
Hell-bent on automating everything! I’m too lazy to do anything else.

TR40 is looking like the "sexy" hot ticket - if a little spendy. :)

Anyone know if I'll be able to talk with it from Elk and HS at the same time? RS485; seems like that should work. No?

Anyone using the HomePRO RF Wall Mt Thermostat? I see that is included in the GUI Graphics library. The Z Wave route seems dependable.

how about radiant heat control

Postby Guest » Sat Dec 17, 2005 1:41 pm

Like the subject says, is anyone controling a multi-zone radiant heat system from HomeSeer/MainLobby? If so, what are you using.
I am in the planning stages to build a new home next year and I am trying to develop a plan for the HA systems. I want to do it right the 1st time.

Thanks,

John,
I am thinking about getting the TXB16 as serial would be a lot more work due to location as the furnace is in the basement and the main PC is on the top floor.

You had mentioned that the "5% is rather annoying" can you please elaborate so that I can make an informed decision.

Thermostat?

Postby egamez » Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:17 pm

Hi

I have a multizone HVAC systems using two RCS ZC6R controllers which communicates via RS485 with a JDS stargate but they can be also controlled via RS232. Stargate has built in the drivers in firmware so integration is by default but I am on my way to use ML as my Interfase either controlling directly the ZC6R or via ML-HomeSeer-Stargate for instance.

Thanks
