Yeah, I got no response to my reply a little while ago either. I would like to take a look at it.

Hi Guys,

To be honest, TriviaLobby is not high on the priority list at this point.

Just wish we had time to devote to every single cool idea. There's just too many and we end up spreading ourselves too thin otherwise.

How about letting one or all of us third party guys work on it?

Hi, Gregory...rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! ;)

It's been a VERY long few months, but things seem to be heading in a generally forward direction again. I got back into the industry I was in B.C. (Before Cinemar) and the general monotony of it all has driven me back into development of my once and future baby (real-time, online, multiplayer trivia).

So, after some time rewriting the Game Server, Channel Server and Game Clients to .Net and converting the backend system to a MS SQL Server for scalability - I've decided to bring trivia back and see where it goes.

Obviously, this is not a Cinemar product - so I'd like to keep the promotion to a minimum here, but there was some earlier interest and it's a fairly complimentary product - so I think the users here won't mind too much. Besides, I kind of missed everybody!

At any rate, check it out. I'm looking for some good beta guys to help me push to release and I know the folks here are more than willing to share feature requests and bugs. There are 2 channels online currently: General Trivia and Movie Quotes Trivia (match the quote with the movie). The question databases are still pretty small (less than 500 questions each) but they'll be growing pretty quickly over the next 30 days.

David,

Thanks - glad to be here.

Gregory,

Thanks. Hopefully, I can contribute some to the general community again - time willing.

CBL,

The way I've designed InteracTrivia is as a distributed system, so the Game Server handles client login and tracking of the various game channels and Channel Servers allow 3rd parties to host one or more games ("channels") connecting to either our question database (SQL Server connection over Internet) or their own database.

If you'd be willing to host a channel or two in the future - I'd be very appreciative and could work with you on getting it setup when I move to public release. The channel servers are designed to provide the serving party with various restrictions on the number of clients that can connect, etc. The additional redundancy would be great and we can work out some sort of arrangement that makes it worth your while.
