The hard one with TrivaLobby was getting critical mass of users. It would be cool if there was always a game going on to join in on. So, when tired of reading forums, one could toggle over and play TriviaLobby!

I agree 100%. My goal was to have a free client and allow users outside of the Lobby user base to be able to play. I've got a pretty good footing as far as everything working - it's just finding the hours to make it happen and polishing it up. I still stand behind the idea and think it would be a very successful product, but there is a higher calling at the moment.

aww ok. i guess you and I are the only ones who have parties because it was an awsome little time passer for the first few guest that arrive and for people just at a loose end. between that and the musiclobby jukebox it made a great combo

Thought I'd kick in and say that you two aren't the only ones who "care about it". I'm interested, as well!

I'll be interested in a "family-friendly" version of it as well... or at least a way to pump in various lists.

I just noticed the "chat" session between Dan and msummers. Obviously counting the chickens before they were hatched.

My guess is that this chat was taking place right before the Yanks pounded Pedro and tied the game and definitely before Boone's historic 11th inning walk-off dinger.

Maybe this year Sox fans. But I doubt it.

Go Yanks!

how dificult would it be to make trivia lobby so that it can run as an option within mainlobby? i am starting to upgrade my mainlobby layout and a "games" button to take me to a screen for casinoilobby and trivia lobby would be great. easpecially if people can play against pother touchpads in the house

TriviaLobby (or interacTrivia) was designed to be easily incorporated into MainLobby. I'm honestly not sure (at this point) the direction that interacTrivia will head. However, I would DEFINITELY recommend putting a games area in your ML build - we'll leave it at that for now. :)

Yeah. I'll have to build a new client; however, TriviaLobby as it stands right now is not "up". I'm going to look at what I've got today and do a time analysis of bringing it back to life.

Greetings, I've been following the Cinemar boards for quite some time, and just recently became an active purchaser :) I spent many months trying to build the ultimate Linux HTPC management system, but ran out of time, and decided to hang onto Cinemar since it's well established, and looks really bad ass.

Anyway, I do some development work myself, and I'm interested in making some modules and plugins for the Lobby suite (assuming I can access enough of the existing MLServer protocol, and other "api").

I've done a ton of Flash ActionScript development professionally (built a custom interflash communication layer for two seperate flash movies to communicate and pass data back and forth back when Flash was at version 5 or so and that was difficult to do :) I replaced the browser's navigation bar with a custom flash one that was "smart" to be able to handle a combination of forward/back webpages and actual flash movie "pages" --- got pretty ugly for the flash pages, since I had to keep a history with data for each entry, etc).

I'm interested in this addon, and I would love to assist with testing, debugging, and extending.

Let me know!

Kevin

What's the status of Trivialobby? Is it still on the list?
