Ocelot Driver Available

Postby mcascio » Thu Mar 19, 2009 7:49 am

We've released a free version of the Ocelot Driver made by Applied Digital Inc. It is available for download directly from MLServer's > HELP > CINEMAR INSTALLATION ASSISTANT...then search for MLOcelot.

Visit our online wiki for more details:

Any chance for a little more detail on the X10 portion of this plugin? For example,

MLOcelot|SendX10~House(0-15)~Key(0-31){~Repeats(1-15)}
Where:
House = (0..15)
Key = (0..31)
Repeats = (1..15)

Is the assumption that this command fires a command pre-programmed in CMAX? Also, there seems to be no X10 related variables in the vaiable list.

Any additional info would help.

Thanks,
Rick

excellent Mario!

I've used Ocelots for years. Have found them most reliable for IR, I/O and relay closure requirements. Never had one go bad in 6 years.

Going over the wiki though for IR commands it looks like some important features are missing

MLOcelot|SendIR~IR#

The Ocelot as you know uses the Secu16IR modules each with 16 IR out ports. As well you can have several Secu16IR modules for large installs. The ports of course are used for controlled IR distrubition. classic would be several sat tv boxes that all use the same IR codes but you want to be able to designate which sat box you want to control. This is done via the Secu16IR ports. IE P#1 = sat box1 #2 = sat box2 etc etc.

{MLServeCmd}Script Usage

MLOcelot|SendIR~module~port~IR#

(Literal)

MLOcelot|SendIR~1~7~23

Hi Rick,

The Ocelot plugin was commissioned by a third party and developed only to meet the need of their project requirements. So the plugin may not be totally complete. I do know the relays are working well based on the project for both status and control. Beyond that, I can't comment. I would recommend playing with it to see if it can do other things you require.

Hey - maybe I will get mine out and dust it off for resale. I forgot I had the thing until I saw this thread. I as well moved on long ago.

I will say that it is still a great device (10 years later) for "one wire" technology for sensors and such.
Thanks!

I agree. For the price and size you couldn't beat it and they are as reliable as anything out there. I ended up replacing them with HAI, except for ir.

I too have a box of Ocelots, SECU-16's, 16i's and 16ir's. Should probably sell them along with all my other storeroom goodies like several HACS products (great stuff for the money), spare HAI boards and one practically brand new Shure SCM810 mixer for VR. Spring cleaning?

Mario, thanks for the info. That's what I thought.

I wouldn't mind taking over this plugin and updating it to include support for the SECU16IR, if you could put me in touch with the third party that originated the plugin. Thank you.
