5/31/2004 - MainLobby Server v. 1.3.3 Released

Postby Guest » Mon May 31, 2004 1:31 am

Sorry for the quick 2nd update, but here it is anyway.

Added ability to send any MLCmd to MainLobby that doesn't require a parameter

MLBackScene, BackgroundFX Hide, BackgroundFX Show, MLexit, MLMenu, MLminimize, OverlayFX Hide, OverlayFX Show, RemoteFX Hide, RemoteFX Show, MLsendtoback, ShutDownWindows, TaskBarHide, TaskBarShow

Syntax is:

MLServeCmd.MLCmd|MLCommand~<<ClientID or ALL>>~<<command>>

MLServeCmd.MLCmd|MLCommand~All~RemoteFX Show

You can still change scenes, as before:

Changed variables system to make updates faster and more reliable

There were some issues introduced in 1.3.2 that have been addressed with this release

Added ability to save variables on exit. Automatically loaded on startup

Another big user request. You can now have all your variables saved out when your exit MLServer (for updates, system service, restarts, etc.) and they will all be restored when you restart MLServer

DVDLobby plug-in changes

Changed override play movie and play trailer commands to "memo" type to allow for commands longer than 255 characters. Fixed the bug when saving discs without an ID. Fixed bug in remotes setup that defaulted the to 5th tab instead of the 1st.

Various minor bug fixes, etc.

Just some code cleanup.

There was also a DVDLobby update released to address the {{CLIENTNAME}} issue. See this thread

The {{CLIENTNAME}} feature works great for me. My default DVD play movie command now includes:

MLServeCmd.MLRedirect|{{CLIENTNAME}}::5004:: ... usual Theatertek stuff...

So now the movie launches automatically on the client machine that made the request (each "client" also needs an instance of MLserver to accept the redirect commands). Only my main server machine needs a copy of the DVD database. Perfect - thanks!

Can we revisit this? Any chance of getting the ability to send MLCmds that do require a parameter? uh... soon? Is this "fixable"? Or is there some bigger issue keeping it from happening?

I have tried to send a ShutDownWindows, and this function does not work. I would use it if it did.

Will be working in the next update properly.

In the meantime, modify the command to read:
ShutdownWindows instead of ShutDownWindows

The problem was the case sensitivity.
