Onkyo plugin....

Postby albright_family » Thu Dec 20, 2012 10:52 pm

Is there any documentation out there for the Onkyo plugin for MLServer3? I have a demo of the software for the new receiver I just got in today. (Yeah, I know, I have not upgraded to ML4 yet.... I want to just need some coin to do so.)

I can see it connected in the MLOnkyo plugin, but how do I use it?

Once you've installed it.

From MLServer, go to Family Manager and select the AV Family.
Press ADD and select OnkyoIntegra from the DRIVER column. Configure ONKYO in the model column.
Specify the IP Address in the NETWORK ADDRESS column.
The PORT should be set to 60128.

NOTE: I've always had difficulty doing firmware updates to the ONKYO unless it's in DHCP. So you'll want to check for firmware updates first then fix the IP Address. Or just reserve that IP Address for the Onkyo through your network router and leave it in DHCP.

Now that you've added the ONKYO to your AV Family...

Go into MLServer's Command Builder and select AV-Onkyo/Integra from the drop down.
Then select the DEVICE Number as configured in the AV Family.

You can now see all the available commands for that device.

How about some instructions for version 3.99 of the plugin.

Is there anyway to see the current status of the receiver? Or to check what input zone 1 was in. And can you send me a link to purchase the ver 3.99 of MLOnkyo.

That functionality is not currently in the legacy plugin. It will have to be added.

Is this the link for the legacy plugin or the new one? I want to purchase the V4 plugin, but I can't find it on the Cinemar site and don't want to purchase this one if it is the legacy plugin.
thanks,
Murray

In the V4 world the OnkyoIntegra is a device driver part of the AV family. You do not purchase device drivers they are all free. as long as you have purchased the AV Family license then just install the OnkyoIntegra device driver.
