client name

Postby bobbym » Mon Jun 21, 2010 1:28 pm

Can I send a MLServer Command to a diffrent client. An example of what I am trying to do is MLDVDLobby~{{DVDServer}}~Browse~Next. This is so I can control dvdlobby on my TV from a Airpanel.
Thank,
Bob M.

Sure:

MLCmd|{{clientname}}~MLDVDLobby|Browse~Next

Where {{clientname}} is the name of the client you are targetting.

Hi Mario, That command is not working. It does not change the client name in MLServer.
Thanks

You can do this with MLScript. Create a new script called anything you want. e.g. "SendIt"

Code: Select all

Option Explicit
Sub SendAsClient (Params)
MLServer.cmdReceiveClient Params(0), Params(1)
End Sub

Then use like this

MLScript|SendIt~SendAsClient??<<ANY VALID MLSERVER COMMAND>>??<<ANY CLIENT NAME>>

Sorry - I forgot that DVDLobby requires the command originate from the client - unless you handle it like Dave suggested above.

the script will work. show the mlserver event log when you try to run the script. Also show me the actual command you are using.

You took me too literally. Do not use << or >> in the command. They were for reference in my example.

Yes, the ?? are there to allow you to use the normal ~ as a command delimiter to the core MLServer command.
