Hi,

Please check out http://musicbrainz.org and see if this could be integrated into Music Lobby. I believe it to be worth your while to investigate it. The idea is to be able to generate playlists based on more advanced criteria than simply Artist > Title and the like.

Thanks

I read through the site... and don't get a picture of what one might desire to search through the advanced tags. Can you give some examples?

If I'm understanding their purpose, it is to be a free alternative to CDDB (which used to be free, of course ). FreeDB is the other "alternative to CDDB" as mentioned in the History of MusicBrainz. This is the database that JRMC uses and that CDJ can be reconfigured to use.

I suspect that currently, the JRMC site would be the place to request this WRT it interacting with Music Lobby.

MusicBrainz looks like it will be charging for their information eventually:

As to the ability to "generate playlists based on more advanced criteria than simply Artist > Title and the like", JRMC has MUCH more capability than anything you've seen in WinAmp or the like, if that's what you're thinking. I think JRMC's search / playlist / smartlist ability is one of its greatest strength (it's not the stability ).

:D
