Launching web pages from one client to another

Postby benny32 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 4:27 pm

I really like Last.fm and Pandora and since there is no direct integration with Mainlobby at this point I am attempting to make it work via weblobby. I have weblobby setup and working on my tablet and it goes to the site...on my tablet...with no sound. Is there a way to navigate via my tablet and have it actually play the sound via my htpc hooked up to my avr? It would seem like there should be however I am missing something here I think.

Thanks

You can certainly command any MLClient go to a WebLobby scene and go to a particular URL (Pandora) directed by another MLClient. Is that what you want to do?

Yes, I want to hit the "Pandora" button on my tablet and launch it on my HTPC client which is connected to my Home Theater speaker system. Right now the "Pandora" button goes to a scene that has a webwindow that has this command attached to it, 611~352~http://www.pandora.com/~1. What I would like is when I hit the "Pandora" button on my tablet it opens on both the tablet and the HTPC, so I can control the playing song on the tablet and hear the output on the speakers of home theater.

Any more thoughts on this? I would guess the sticky portion of this will be the control of the pandora player from the tablet.

The right way is to build a custom plugin to Pandora's restricted view API.

If there were a lot of folks interested, it might be worth the effort. But, haven't seen much hand waving for it.

I would be interested in a Pandora App. If any of you have used a blu ray player with the integrated Pandora app, you will know why.

=P~
