Case sensitive URL

Postby mnkynifefite » Wed Jan 06, 2010 2:55 pm

I have a URL I have a button "programmed" to go to (it's a monthly school lunch menu in PDF form). The URL is case sensitive, so even though I have entered it in correctly it always change the case on my CAPS to lowercase...thus it does not work. If I fix the case issues in the URL address bar it works.

BTW, I can't use a redirect file since part of the URL is pulling in the {{currentmonthstr}} variable.

Please help.

Could you use MLWriteFile to create a redirect file containing the correct URL with the variable contents and open that instead?

How would I get the variable ( {{Currentmonthstr}} ) to update in the MLWrite file?

I sent you the URL in a PM (for security purposes), but the example is below is what it looks like (with part of the school name X's out)-

My Command:
MLCmd|{{clientname}}~Web|Navigate~XXXXX.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/homepagefiles/cms/504154/File/Child%20Nutrition/{{Currentmonthstr}}%202010%20Menu.pdf~1

What is being sent (or at least what appears in the URL address bar in WebLobby:
MLCmd|{{clientname}}~Web|Navigate~XXXXX.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/homepagefiles/cms/504154/File/child%20nutrition/january%202010%20menu.pdf~1

Again, if I manually go into the URL address bar and edit the Case on the letters I've bolded then it works.

I've traced the command all the way through MLServer and I can verify that what gets sent to the client maintains the proper case. It must be converted to lower case in the MainLobby client after it receives the command. I'll have to check with Mario on that.

Would

Code: Select all

MLWriteFile|foobar.url~WRITE~XXXXX.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/homepagefiles/cms/504154/File/Child%20Nutrition/{{Currentmonthstr}}%202010%20Menu.pdf

not work?

Can you give me an example of what command you are using to pass the url? There could be multiple locations in the code where this could be happening so knowing what you are sending from the button will be helpful.

Is it part of an MLServeCmd or in the Web (.HTML) field?

This should be resolved in our next release. I was able to track down the issue.
