Passing certain URL characters to weblobby

Postby oaserani » Fri Aug 29, 2008 7:47 am

Folks -- has anybody found a way to pass certain characters into the URL (either in the WebWindow label or with the Navigate cmd)

http://oserani.dyndns.org:8092
works for me
http://oserani.dyndns.org:8092/main.cgi ... e=main.htm
does not work

I've tried using a variable {{URL_address}} in the webwindow and the navigate command, and I can't trick it into taking the one with the ? and = characters (I'm assuming it doesn't like those).

Thoughts?

Thanks

The equal sign is the problem.

THis post contains the solution though:

Mario -- thanks. Is the thread somewhat broken, I see a reference to doing a command map, but it doesn't make sense, is there a clearer example in the wiki?

Copy / Paste below into notepad and save as Redirect.html

<html>
<head>
<title>Redirect</title>
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; URL=http://oserani.dyndns.org:8092/main.cgi?next_file=main.htm">
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">

</body>
</html>

Then point weblobby to redirect.html

Mario -- I have the html file in the \Cinemar directory. How do I point

I tried using it in the Weblobby button label as
374~288~linksys.html~1

and I tried using it in a button to navigate as
MLCmd|{{clientname}}~Web|Navigate~linksys.html~1

but no luck.... I also used the exact name that you used (redirect.html) but sitll nothing. Is my syntax wrong?

Thanks again

You'll need to supply the full path to your redirect.html page.

So try:
374~288~C:\Program Files\Cinemar\Redirect.html~1

It may be case sensitive.

Mario -- got it. It's VISTA's great file manager messes...I need to tie out both the Upper case/lower case sensitivity within the html code and the external file name and the Weblobyy button.

It's working! Thanks!
