Today's problem...

Postby winch20010 » Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:00 am

I probably have a black cat somewhere at home...
everydays, a new problem appears...

I tried to installed weblobby without any success.
1)I installed the plugin on the server and registrered it.
2)I installed the weblobby user interface on the client. I also make the client compatible with "xp sp2" as explain. (I run the client on a vista host).

When I create a weblobby page, nothing appears.
In the design or edit mode, I only can see a blue window. I also didn't change anything in the label field (size~size~url~id).
When I save the interface and launch the interface, no more windows are present.

In order to investigate, I also added a button, which called a weblobby show for this window (id=1), but nothing...

FYI: I'm running on a vista client (maybe sp1), and I have default IE + Firefox on it.

I also wanted to share my interface to thank all of you:

Thanks in advance.

Maybe there is a real problem, but I'm totally unable to add datas in inputtext field.

I also installed mldrink to test it, and I can't execute a search. I can't entered any values in the input field.

Sebastien

Have you verified that you can load IE on that machine?

Double check your WebLobby License to make sure it is currently permanent.

Weblobby is well registred, but as trial version (like mainlobby client & server).

I've also force the dll registration by right clicking on the file and select register the dll.

My feeling is this is probably not linked with weblobby. I encounter some odd results in the interface.
Can it be related to trial versions? I'm not sure, I think the trial versions are identical to registred versions. (trial will finish in 10days, and I'd like to have a compliant solution before buying it :) )

In mldrinker for example, I can't enter text in the "look for" box.
when my mouse flies on all my text fields (text.singleline used in my interface), a light blue windows is visible.

IE is also well working on the vista box. (I've set ie to be the default browser but no changes)

Thanks in advance for your help

I believe your issue with the text area on the Drink Finder screens are unrelated to the WebLobby/Trial issue. I think that scene has a reference to a keyboard file that isn't there.

Re-download and install the latest trial version of MainLobby. This contains some updated files and a new Drink Finder scene that should find the newly designed onscreen keyboard. You can't actually type in the text field until the onscreen keyboard is loaded.

Open the scene 0019_drinktank.mls

I'm still not sure about your issue with WebLobby.

I'll try installing on a Vista system here to see if similar issues arise.

We need to go through a process of elimination to identify what is going on. Start by turning off the Vista firewall. Reboot the PC and see if this makes any difference. Let us know what happens.

The MLDrinkfinder issue is different and Mario's message should provide the solution to that.

You were right. I've installed mlclient update, and now, the keyboard appears (unfortunatly only one time, but if I remember, already discussed in the forum. need to clear the variable or something similar. I will look at it).

About Weblobby. No news... still not working, even with the mlclient update.
For testing purposes, I've also tried it on windows XP sp2, and ... same song... :( weblobby is not working. I can't see the weblobby windows in launch mode.

Investigation:
1) no firewall installed in XP/Vista
2) I've stopped my antivirus
3) Internet explorer is the same in the 2 clients (IE7)
4) For the 2 clients, I use Windows french versions (not sure it's important)

No more idea now...

Can you post a screenshot of your MLServer Plugins window showing that MLWebLobby is listed and the license information?

I guess it's possible the French could be the culprit but not sure.

I see that you have LogMeIn running. Send me your LogMeIn login information via email and I'll remote in and see if I can determine what is going on.

winch20010,

YOu mentioned that you:
2)I installed the weblobby user interface on the client.

Where did you get a separate installer for the weblobby user interface?

The Library that is required ships directly with MainLobby...so you shouldn't have to install anything on the client for WebLobby.

Your LibraryWebLobby.swf file should be dated 05/15/2008. Perhaps there is an old weblobby installer that is overwriting something.

Bad explanation from my side I think. the libraryweblobby has been installed itself. the version is also dated 05/15/2008.
