What are the chances of getting RSS feeds for messages on this list?

Dave P. may know what is involved...but I personally don't.

If anyone has any info on providing this feature, it may limit our research time.

Oh, I'd say the chances are pretty good. Look at the bottom of every page. An RSS feed is now available for every forum. Now, I'm not a RSS expert but I just appled the RSS 2.0 mod and it looks like it works.

Let me know how if there are any issues.

Dave...

I guess this is showing my ignorance  but how exactly would you use RSS within ML? If anyone has a screen shot or 2 they want to post, I would really appreciate it.

thanks,
Murray

I use Homeseer RSS script to populate a Homeseer device code with RSS information. Then, I use MLHSPlugin to populate a MLServer variable with same data. Then, I use a custom swf which is a scrollable text window that is hard coded to display a certain MLServer variable. This text window can be on any scene.

I don't have text formatting working so it's messy to read (things run into each other.

Cinemar doesn't today have a RSS reader in Flash for MainLobby. But, it's a great idea!

Murray,

Don't feel bad, I have the same question but was embarrassed to ask. I bet it is something really cool that I can put about 50 more hours into :P .

Madmax, so are you just using this outside of ML as a different way to browse this forum?
thanks,
Murray

I am using the RSS feeds with an external RSS aggregator. I am not using it in Mainlobby. I read numerous forums and websites daily including this forum. I keep on top of new posts using "RSS Bandit", a free windows RSS aggregator.
