Wiki Link

Postby blafarm » Mon Aug 06, 2007 1:36 am

It would be nice to have a Wiki link at the top of the forum page so one could have direct access to reference files.

Great idea. Would also be nice to have the links from the main forum page on EVERY page:

I find myself having to go back to the main page just to get to a particular menu that could be accessed from any page.

I could not agree more and I was just going to post this in a new thread. If there is any link I find myself searching for all the time, it is the WIKI. I always end up going to history and ending up deep in the directory structure.

You have a great tool that you have created and you are not advertising it. The WIKI is getting so powerful that if done correctly, it will sell more product.

Well then there is the website that needs a face lift....I know, the list never ends.
Thanks!

We happen to be working on the shopping cart right now....you didn't mention that one ;)

We are also working on the Installer process...

Oh, and registration is after that...

And then we'll update the Wiki on how to use this new stuff ;)

We would put the link on the webpages, but we are a bit afraid we'lll break the website template and have to spend a few hours fixing that. It's not quite as easy as throwing a URL out there.

So much to do...

All great problems to have! Keep up the great work and remember that whatever it is that you give us, we are all going to ask for more.

Just the fact that the WIKI is out there is fantastic. Videos are next I am sure. :) (see, always want more).
Thanks!

Don't forget - you can always add the WIKI to your bookmarks. :)

I have an easy solution to propose.

Change the usergroups link to wiki...wheteher you rename it or just change the link doesn't matter.

Yes, adding the link to browser is easy, except when you're working on a different machine every week....

We really really really need easier access to wiki. I concur with cborod. Lets do something. The easier access is to wiki to find our own answers, the easier it is on everyone at cinemar and forum.

Mainlobby Installer

I go to Mainlobby installer search for the plugin or info I want, when it comes up click the doc icon (first icon). Takes you right to it. :D

Our next generation of installers will have more robust Wizards built in and where appropriate, will have links to pertinent sections of the Wiki to describe in detail that step for the user to choose appropriate choice.

Not for the "expert", but really for the "novice" and "first timer".

One more click of evolution for simplicity.

Just to confirm. At one point I thought we had to download from mlinstaller. Then close down mlinstaller and open the folder and install the new items WITHOUT mlinstaller being open. Now, I think we can download AND install from mlinstaller. No closing down mlinstaller now, right?
