Just want to purchace a HTPC, not build

No matter how large or how small, the area of Home Theater is what we all have in common. So...Let others know your configuration. List your components first and then if you care to, a small history. Be sure to come back and keep it updated!

Any of the Media Center Edition PC's are usually beefy enough to get started.
The main issue becomes storage space. If you plan I ripping your entire dvd collection you need tons of drive space.
Thanks,
Shawn

Steve,

There is a list of some dealers who can help you in building a complete system on the following page:

I think if you go with an MCE machine you may be spending money on some extras you might not need as far as their software goes.

MCE is $140 via NewEgg. It is XPPro - minus some stuff you won't need, plus the MC application. So, it's a "cheap" XPPro OS.
Just installed it last night again (motherboard failure - yuk). Now have to call Bill Gates for a new Activation Code (pain).

I have had problems with my 9800AIW graphics card working well with MCE application (not XPPro). Hopefully this new clean installation might fix things (I can wish now, can't I?).
