Irrigation items

Postby DaveB » Mon Jun 02, 2014 5:55 am

Dave -
With the new interface in V5 for Irrigation, I have discovered an issue. When running in manual mode and after starting a zone for a specific time period, you cannot stop the zone from running from the GUI prior to the expiration of the time period. WHen you go to the control panel in the driver and select the zone and hit stop, the zone has no control and you cannot stop the zone from the driver.

I originally thought that this was GUI issue, but now am leaning to it being a larger issue with the driver. The irrigation log does indicate the stop command.

In my configuration, me relays are via HAI. The HAI log does not indicate the stop command so apparently is never receiving the command from the driver.

Take this one step further and if you select a second manual zone while the first zone is running in error, a second zone will start and again you have no control to stop the zone. Multiple zones should never run as that can damage the transformer or valve coil.

DO not have time now but I can post some logs.

This might be something HAI specific .I use Global Cache relays for controlling my zones and I cannot reproduce this issue here. More testing will be needed.

Dave - Irrigation is definitely not working for me. I have captured screenshots and log files as below. Recall that I am connected to a Leviton (HAI) Omni panel. I have great control manually via HAI, so I know that everything after Cinemar is working as expected. Let me know what further items you may need to see and if you need remote access. Actually you have the remote information.

Also note that the irrigation applet is not picking up the current setting from the GUI. Great examples are the run time minutes and the Seasonal % settings. The Veg zone is set to 80% on the GUI. The runtime is set to 30 min.

Thanks!

Another interesting clip that happened while I was posting the above items; Why is it reporting that Zone 1 is turning off? I was running zone 6?? Actually nothing was running but that is secondary.

I would have to remote into your system and manually run some irrigation commands to see what all the moving parts are doing. We'll have to schedule some to for this.

Dave -
Had more time to look into this. The command being sent to turn off a zone in HAI from Irrigation is not correct. The on command is correct; The off command is not. The zone runs forever. Look at the mess starting at 3:02:36 below. ***EDIT*** I also should add that the command from command builder of "Control|257~Off" works. The driver is sending "Cmd=[257~Off~1] Client=[Server]" where the ~1 is a qualifier or timer to turn the relay off for one second. The error is with the ~1 at the end of the command.

Don't think I would have ever found that one. Install the version of Irrigation I just released. Then for each of your Zones make sure the associated relay is set to N/A.

Great - I will test it out later today and let you know how it goes.

I am replacing my well pump and when completed will go back to the pump relay action. Currently I am on city water with no relay.
Thanks!

Dave - Ok, the valve On/Off is repaired. I unfortunately uncovered another few issues.

In Manual single zone mode - the following happens;

1. Run Zone X for 2 Minutes manually - all is well; THe zone turns off as expected however the zone does not clear from the "Running Zones" scene
2. Run Zone Y for 2 Minutes - Zone x runs for 2 Minutes then zone Y runs for 2 Minutes - Both zones are now in the now running list.
3. Run Zone Z for 2 Minutes - ZOne X runs for 2 Minutes followed by Zone Z for 2 minutes.

The is some sort of pop and replace issue in the stack logic in this manual zone mode.

I will continue to test the Manual Program mode and automated mode as time allows.
Thanks!

Dave - Any further opportunity to look into this?

I also want to get back on the Locations/ Lights issue in a separate thread.
Thanks!

I can replicate what you see. It's a function of not removing a zone when it is done. I have not had time to resolve this yet. It will get taken care of soon.

Dave-
When you do have time to dig the irrigation driver next, is it possible for you to expose a variable indicating if the system is being restricted due to the weather parameters?

I would like a simple indication of the restriction so that I can add that to my home screen.
Thanks!
