Latest Pandora Driver Release issue

Postby DaveB » Sat Oct 31, 2015 1:24 pm

Dave - Something is up with the latest update posted for Pandora. Everything was working prior to the update. As of the update, tracks seem to start as indicated by the timer bar however there is no audio output until about 50 seconds into the track. If you eject the track, the same thing happens when starting the next one.

I thought it was something to do with my sound card or something, so I tested Songza and TuneIn without any issues.
Thanks!

I've been experimenting with pre-buffering to minimize buffering during playback. Try the version I just released to see if it works better for you.

Anyone else have issues? I am playing around with Pandora and it seems that it takes a long time to start playing songs including long delays in between songs.

Many buffering messages with slow increment.

Running the latest versions? What is your Internet download speed? The Pandora app will try to buffer %20 of the song before it starts playing. This should only take milliseconds on a good connection.

Dave
I am again seeing the same. 30 to 50 seconds or longer between songs and the first song starts 1 minute in.
My internet speed is nearly T 1 speed.
Thanks!

I just updated the app to reduce the buffering to 5% of the song. Any lower and we run the risk of the introducing a lot of stuttering in the playback.

Dave - Not any better. In fact, maybe worse.
Thanks!

After further review, things seemed to work better yesterday. I think that this is more of an issue with Pandora than with the driver or buffering. First song took maybe 10 seconds, but all future songs started as expected. I did note the the time scale is off accordingly.
Thanks!

Dave,

We listen to a lot of Pandora via ML and over the past 3 to 4 days I too have noticed a longer delay before playing the first song and especially between songs (6 -10 seconds). Has anything changed or should I start looking internally at my server to see if something is bogging it down?

Use the version I released today. Playback should be nearly immediate for radios controlled by the app. (Non-AVAgent radios)
