The Songza radio app was updated today. The issue with adding/removing favorites has been resolved.

Dave,

Did you have a chance to create any flash scenes yet?

Thanks,
Davis

Is it just me or has something changed with Songza. Many tracks now abruptly end and then a new track starts playing. There is no gap between tracks. When the track ends, it cuts off the last few bars or words. I noticed it last week but thought is was a fluke. Now it is acting like this on multiple channels. The issue does not happen on every track, but many.
Thanks!

I'm playing Songza nearly all day and I've not seen any of that behaviour here.

I let it play for about 8 more hours yesterday on various channels and I am getting the same results at times. Some songs end in the middle and some at the end. I can not determine if it a source issue or if the driver is ejecting the track. I will run a log today.
Thanks!

DaveB,

I've noticed that as well, particularly on radio #2 for me. #1 doesn't seem to do it.

Now today I'm getting nothing but errors . I get various error #'s depending on what I'm trying to do but the error always refers to not being able to load file assembly "Newtonsoft.json, verson 6.0.0.0".

Is anyone else having trouble with Songza?

Songza is playing fine here. The issue is the Newtonsoft JSON missing. What server is this? email me.

Google has announced that they will be shutting down the Songza Radio service on January 31st 2016. They are rolling all the Songza features directly into the Google Play Music services. The goal is that the the Songza app will be replaced with a Google Play app and anyone who has purchased the Songza app will automatically get a free license to the new Google Play app. More information about this will be forthcoming as the new app is developed.

That was almost predictable! Just that no one knew the timeline. AS long as they have an API that works, then no issue. Right?
Thanks!

There is no public api released by Google but a good reversed engineered api does exist in the wild. Fingers crossed.

I was afraid this was going to happen. They don't give much warning do they?

Songza has bought the farm but GMusic is rising from the ashes. Watch for the announcement this week for more details but the short story is that the new GMusic app will replace Songza and anyone who has already purchased Songza will automatically get the upgrade for GMusic. If you are not familiar with the new Google Music service go to their website an create an account. Google Music has a free tier that plays short commercials between songs.
