BarLobby App Released

Postby CinemarDave » Wed Oct 09, 2013 1:06 pm

Today we'd like to announce the availability of the new BarLobby app. This app is an re-make of the old MLDrinkFinder plugin upgraded with new functionality. Similar to the RecipeLobby app you can manage your private drink collection using the Content Manager. Every night the BarLobby app will automatically synchronize with our master database and download newly added drink recipes. Currently the master database contains over 7,000 drink recipes spanning all forms on alcoholic and non-alcoholic recipes. All drink recipes now include an image of what the drink should look like.

The sample MainLobby, iPad and Android apps have been updated to include sample scenes for the new BarLobby app. You can easily browse the database of all drinks, or filter on specific spirits and then see the detail information about the drink.

Have a look and get a designated driver.

I clicked on the Initialize database button under the app in mlserver and it started downloading the drinks.

I had the old DrinkLobby app, and was questioning whether the new app could attach to the existing drink database. Apparently, it has to build a new database.

The new BarLobby app uses its own database tables in the SQL database. The first time you use it you have to manually sync with the master or it will automatically happen overnight. As we add new drinks into the master database they will automatically get distributed during the nightly refresh.
