Version 3.90.73 fixes a small issue with the Stop command not working with remote SatRadios being controlled via ClientSvc.exe.

Hi Dave,

Speaking of the "Stop" command, I was wondering if there is any way to speed up the delay of this command?

The delay for initializing a new stream takes several seconds (a factor of internet connection bandwidth) ... and it seems that stopping a channel from playing also is delayed. Is that a bandwith issue, also?

It would be great if the user could get more immediate feedback when a radio stream is stopped (lots of false button pushes happening in my household). I saw the post about building a scene "one moment please ... " notification.

What commands are subject to delay, and can you speed them up in the plugin code? Not many users have 3 to 6mb/ sec internet connections.

The only command that is subject to a delay is the Play command and only when it is associated with a Internet stream. What kind of delay are you seeing with Stop? Mine happens nearly instantly every time. I probably have the worst case condition because I issue the stop command from my iTouch then it hits my MLSever which in turn has to forward the stop to ClientSvc on my development PC. By the time I have lifted my finger off the iTouch the stream has stopped.

I guess the real question Dave is when are you going to post your iTouch scenes?
Thanks!

Dave,

I don't seem to be able to stop any streams with the stop command, regardless of the radio number 1 thru 5.

This wiki command:

MLSatRadio|Stop~1 (or any radio number)

does not work on the default scene stop button or when issued directly. I see the speaker channel assignments get set to 0 alpha, so I assume the command is partially working, but the control "Stop" button never sets to 0 alpha, nor does the "Play" button appear. I continue to hear audio from the assigned channel after sending the command, however the "Mute" command does work. If I assign a different channel, I get the added audio channel mixed in with the channel which was supposed to be stopped.

Anyone else having this problem?

Ron

Are you using version 3.90.73 of the plugin? That version fixed the stream Stop issue.

Do you see the stop command hitting the ClientSvc PC? Do you see the Stop command in the plugin? Events? It is working here.

I'm not using the ClientSvc plugin. The client is the MLServer computer. Here are some screen shots.

Radio 1 Settings.jpg

Now Playing.jpg

Event Log.jpg

The event log does show the stop command being issued to radio 1 correctly, but notice the next event line. Why does it say "Player 2 stopped"? Shouldn't it say "Player 1 stopped"?

I checked the variables and the active radio is "Radio 1" (Family Room) and the stop command is directed to the correct radio player. Radio 2 was not active at the time I ran this test. It had no channel playing at all.

I feel your pain ... no biggy! It works now, and without a delay.

Thanks Dave. =D>

Wow, I just saw the price for the MLSatRadio plugin. That is a little steep for me since I would only ever use 1 radio for streaming.

Dave,
Are there any plans to have a LITE version that would just support streaming of 1 radio?

If not, then I guess I will just have to keep using my BLSatRadio plugin for HomeSeer.

Please let me know
Thx
