Internet Radio Images - can't get it working

Postby simonmason » Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:24 pm

I have added an Internet Radio Station through Content Manager. The station plays fine but I only get the image with the world and the headphones. The image displays in Content Manager, it is a JPG. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The image on the scene is not the station logo it is the cover art for the song currently playing on that station. A lot of stations do not broadcast the metadata needed for cover art look up. You'll end up with the globe with the headphones when no album cover art is found. The station logo is held in a different variable.

a-ha. So, I might try adding some code to pull up the station logo if the song is not broadcast.

One more thing - slogan doesn't appear to save when adding a station

You could try this.
Put the station logo on the scene. The place the cover art image on top of it. Then rename \Images\InternetRadio.png to InternetRadio.png.save. The copy NoImage.png to InternetRadio.png.

After doing this you will see the station logo displayed and if cover art is available it will be displayed on top of the logo.

Thanks, I will try this out. On the logo issue - it doesn't appear that the logo I entered in Content Manager is showing in the play button on the right of the screen?

I am having the same issue where the Station Logo that I enter into Content Manager is not being displayed on the play button. When I take a look at the radio_logo_#_Clientname variables, I see that only the logos URLs that are associated with stations that were 'not' manually entered appear in the variables. Any station that I entered in Content Manager does not have any information in its associated variable, its blank. I wonder if the InternetRadio App is not populating those variables for the Content Manager Entries?

Over site on my part. The app wasn't not looking for a logo if it was a user generated station. The version I just released will correct that issue.

Thanks for the quick fix...but, I just installed the latest MLSever and InternetRadio App and I'm current on Content Manager and its not fixed on my system? I rescanned the radio stations thinking it may help, but no luck. Still not populating those manually added logo variables...

That is very odd as it wasn't working here and now it is. I guess I'll have to look deeper. In content manager on your system what is the path to the radio logo as shown in the editor?

Ok, that's the right path and similar to what I see here. What is {{radio_1_nowplaying_logo}} look like when you select that station?

It is: http://192.168.1.102:6246/Images/Radio/ ... .jpg?68764
If I put that in a web browser, the image loads up fine.

The .mls sheet pulls the Logo from the variable "radio_logo_2_livingroom" (since its the second station in my favorite list and I'm on the 'livingroom' client) and that variable is empty, along with the other stations that I manually entered...

I made a work around and so if other people are not having an issue with this, then I'm more interested in the PrevTrack issue than this :)

If anyone else has the same problem, an easy solution is:
Put an Image on top of the Station Logo Image and in the new image pull the station logo .jpg based on:
Images/Radio Stations/{{radio_radioid_9_{{CLIENTNAME}}}}.jpg

Put a 102 x 45 image of the station logo in the Content/Images/Radio Stations/ directory and save it using the name: stationID.jpg and set the State of the image so that when {{radio_logo_#_{{clientname}}}} is blank, then the image is transparent....You'll have to save the station ID logo here for any new Manually Added stations - however, I'm not adding stations manually very often.

No need for the workaround. I forgot to fix it in the browser section. I'll post an update in the morning.
