Remote soure - toggleplaypause, no longer works

Postby donaldeweaver » Mon Nov 12, 2012 12:27 pm

I recently had to reload my HTPC due to a hard drive failure. This is the PC I use to stream movies and music to. I run a separate server for MlServer which hasn’t been changed. Since my reload, I am now experiencing some issues with using a Musiclobby remote source. The remote source being the HTPC. The musiclobby toggleplaypause no longer works. Additionally musiclobby no long shows the currentposition time.

The command I am using for toggleplaypause is MLMusicLobby|{{music_activemusicsourcenumber_{{clientname}}}}~TogglePlayPause, which used to work but no longer does. Additionally, the variable {{music_currentposition_{{music_activemusicsourcenumber_{{clientname}}}}} is now blank; it is listed in mlserver but is blank.
I can still use other commands such as Play, Pause, NextNowPlayingTrack, PreviousNowPlayingTrack commands but not toggleplaypause. I’ve check the event log and musiclobby logs. The command is being received by musiclobby without any error.

11/12/2012 11:22:35 AM Send: RemoteZone Slot #0 [Mul~TogglePlayPause]

I was running Windows 7 32-bit on the HTPC but took the opportunity to upgrade to windows 7 64-bit since I had to reload it anyway. Based off an older issue I saw listed in the forum, I assume the problem has something to do with the ver of Clientsvc as nothing else has changed on the server and the only other change on my htpc is windows 64-bit rather than 32-bit. Therefore, I installed the newest versions of mlclientsrv on both the server and HTPC.

My server is running the following: Windows Server 2003 R2, Mlserver ver 3.75.227, Mlclientsvc 3.90.18, Musiclobbby 3.99.24
My HTPC is Windows 7 64-bit, MainLobby Clientsvc 3.99.187
Can someone point me in the right direction to correct this issue?
Thanks, Don

What does the ClientSvc event log say on the remote PC? Is it getting the MusicLobby commands? If you look in the sessions tab do you see that it is connected to the main MLServer?

I don't think it ever worked. I just released an updated ClientSvc agent. See if that one fixes the issue.

Thanks, the new clientsvc agent version fixes the toggleplaypause issue completely.

However, the variable music_currentposition_{{music_activemusicsourcenumber_{{clientname}}}} aka music_currentposition_1 is still not populated on the server. There is no music_currentposition variable. Is the agent responsible for updating this variable, has the variable changed or been removed or is this a plugin or configuration issue on my end?

It used to display the ongoing time elapsed/total time using the variables below:
{{music_currentposition_{{music_activemusicsourcenumber_{{clientname}}}}}} / {{music_currenttracktime_{{music_activemusicsourcenumber_{{clientname}}}}}}~105~20

Thanks,
Don

That comes from the MusicLobby plugin. See if the version I just released 3.99.25 works better.

I installed the new Musiclobby version, and restarted mlserver. I see that two variables were created, music_currentposition_1 and music_currentpercent_1, but both still remain empty during song play.
