Use EXIF info to rotate pictures

Postby heystew » Fri Feb 13, 2009 11:24 am

Thanks for the great add-on. I think that a valuable feature would be to use the embedded EXIF orientation information to rotate the photos. I'm using photolobby in a scenario where the user has no input interface (no touchscreen, keyboard, mouse) and this would be invaluable. The display automatically changes between several scenes on a monitor mounted high on the wall.

thanks!

Good idea. The EXIF info, if it exists, will give me info that the photo should be rotated but it is not 100% accurate. Also, I don't know which direction it should be rotated. 90 degress CCW is normal but not always. Right now if you rotate an image manually that rotation is remembered and you won't have to rotate the picture again. If you did this for the current photos there will display properly until this feature is implemented.
