MLNetflix version 3.90 released

Postby CinemarDave » Thu May 06, 2010 4:20 pm

The latest version of the Netflix plugin is now available for purchase and download. You will need the new scenes that ship with the latest MainLobby client and you will have the best experience when used in conjunction with a MCE remote control using the 1920x1080 scenes. See the wiki for additional information.

two questions. one. in the wiki it says i need to download the client application. i cant find that. is that just the scenes?
two, in the plugin, when i try to update my movie listings it says in the plugin log, "compact db. error at line #50. you attempted to open a database that is already opened exclusively by the user admin on machine MLSERVER-PC. try again when the database is available."
what do i do?

When you install the latest version of the MainLobby client you will find the new Netflix scenes in the Content\0019\1920x1080 folder. There are no other set of client files to download and install.

the compact dvd error probably means that the background downloading program (Cinemar Data Collector) was still running when the compact was attempted.

Did you have the old version of the Netflix plugin installed? If so delete the Netflix database file and then reinstall the new plugin.

On 1920x1080 scenes because you need to control the Netflix player with a remote control that emulates a mouse. So you'll have to use the new remote control scenes shipping with Mainlobby.

i shouldnt have it installed but im pretty sure i do have the old db file but i cant find it. I just built a new server a week or so ago and just drag and dropped the entire old program file>mlserver folder on to the new machine after i reinstalled mlserver and my core plugins. i didnt reinstall mlnetflix cause it was dead and i new this new version was coming. should i just uninstall the new plugin and delete any file i can find called mlnetflix and reinstall the new plugin?

Don since you are an early user of the Netflix plugin why don't you just set up a LogMeIn account and let me remote into your server so I can see what is going on. Email me your LogMeIn credentials.

You could easily create a touchscreen version of the scenes. However once you select a Netflix movie to watch you will need a mouse to operate the Netflix movie player. Since the Netflix player requires the mouse we only published remote control scenes in the 1920x1080 format.

I was poking around the internet looking for a way to get netflix silverlight to go full screen without a mouse and found a plugin called Netflix control, you can download it here -> http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7963&stc=1&d=1234548550

There is an executable called "netflix_control.exe" in the download and all you do is run it. Then when you launch a netflix movie it recognizes it and forces the movie to full screen. pretty sweet!

Just thought this might be useful to someone.
